Biography


I was born in Tehran on February 4, 1951. My first entrée into the music world occurred in 1971, and the rest as they say, is history.

My passion and main objective has always been to be the voice of my people's sentiments and their plight. Looking back at the past 35 years, I sure picked a tough battle since not only I was persecuted and imprisoned for my beliefs and my sociopolitical stand, I am still facing obstacles and impediments in this perpetual struggle .

Since my forced migration out of Iran after the Islamic Revolution, I have been traveling the world, visiting my countrymen, voicing our hopes and heartfelt wishes for a better tomorrow for our precious Iran and our beloved countrymen.

Since the year 2000, I have expanded my activities by being the messenger of recovery for those suffering from substance abuse. As a member of Amnesty International, and through my radio and TV programs, I have been trying to bring awareness to Iranian communities all around the world, as well as to International Organizations regarding the social maladies widespread in Iran. Issues that are gradually destroying the future of my country and the well being of our youth.

I am certain that with the power of determination , a touch of awareness, mixed with the healing scent of love we will succeed to rebuild a brighter, more prosperous, free Iran.
